Quote of the Day - JUST DO IT!
Do it trembling if you must, but do it !
[BRYNEY© Productions] "How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of all on those who take refuge in you." ~Psalm 31:19
I don't usually care to add any personal post on our blog, but the Title I thought of for this post struck me funny. I've been working at a gym for about six weeks, but I'll be leaving that soon to start work in a full-time position at a small production company. I'll be leaving the "Buff" people behind to go work on "Buffing" pipes for production. "From buff to buffer." Anyway, I thought it was funny!
"...if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then {and only then} I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Our growing will, generally, remains undetected; there may be a few lone prophetic voices in the wilderness, but by and large, our wills are allowed to grow and incumbate in ideal conditions: under the cloak and guise of religion and righteousness...the church, God, preaching Christ, communion, outreach, mission/vision statements, prayer/bible meeting/studies. It's all a very clever cover for this disease, this cancer, to seep in, and creep in to the hearts of men and purpose of the church. We see and talk about warning signs, but we do nothing about them; we're too darn apathetic and complacent. For every dent our will and pride make, the divide makes it that much harder to put a stop to it. It's like a self-feeding, self-fulfilling failure.
Man has the iron will...strong, resolute, stubborn to the very end. God has the living will...inviting, intrusive, including to the very end. The will of man is very deceptive; it blinds us to itself so that we continue feeding it. Its tool? Pride. Our will's nature epitomizes what it exists to do: survive. It not only helps us survive but it seeks to survive as its own power and force. It wants to survive and thrive as well. Little by little, slowly but surely, the will of mankind creeps into our relationship with the Creator. We eventually end up depending on ourselves, while still claiming and proclaiming Christ. You see that pattern repeated throughout the Old Covenant. "There is nothing new under the sun." We are driven. May God use that drive for the greater good, to his glory, and man's reward, for all eternity.
The mayor would urge
"Every 10 seconds a woman is giving birth, she must be found and stopped."
Sometimes it seems like God likes to throw us curve balls in our lives. I don't mean to sound like something bad has happened to me because it hasn't. In fact, there was something good that happened to me. There was a "test" that I was supposed to pass today and it turns out that I was given a break and that I was "promoted" within the ranks for a while. The Word of God tells us that "every good and perfect gift is from above". I claim that today and I praise Him for the things He has done in my life. His timing is perfect in every single way and I love Him for giving me what I've got.
The will of God and the will of man want the same thing. But the will of God is rooted in a heart of love, humility, and selflessness; the heart of man is filled with himself. We both want to rule, but both with two very different motives. God wants to rule out of love, in view of his deep love for us; man wants to rule over others for his own glory and gain. They clash. That's why it is so hard for man to enter heaven, for it is himself that stands in the way. We must be humbled and filled with faith. Moreover, it is the deceptive nature of our proud will that blinds us from the truth. There again, it is ourselves who stand in the way of our own freedom. May we be brought low that God may lift us up.
The will is a powerful force. "Use the Force, Luke." The Star Wars' use of that unknown "force" isn't too far off, if you consider that the real power came from their will. God gave us a will (our soul), to strive, survive, and thrive. If we didn't have that drive to press on, overcome, and conquer then we wouldn't have survived. But it's that same will that stands in opposition to God, and his will. When mankind looks around himself, and considers what he accomplished with his own hands (technology in medicine, communication, transportation, etc), the pride in his heart wells up into arrogance, deception, and blindness. For you see, the will is not only a very powerful - necessary - force, but also a very deceptive one.
With what I see, and the convictions I have based on those observations, I feel as though I'm either an insanely self-absorbed lunatic or I'm right on the money.
When people say, "I’m so tired it's not even funny" or "my head hurts so much it's not even funny", why would it even be funny in the first place?
Do stairs go up or down?
Why is there a top line on lined paper if we never use it?
Do coffins have lifetime guarantees?
Why do the numbers on phones go down while the numbers on calculators go up?

*I am including this conversation with Bry upon his encouragement to do so*
We, in the church, sell our successes, accomplishments, dedications, celebrations, and any other form of churchy self-promotion, by attaching God's name to it. We think that by spiritualizing whatever we're doing, we're justified in doing it, like we truly are giving glory to God just because we say we are. Well, we don't, and can't, give glory to God just because we say we are giving glory to God; our heart reveals the truth. And as Bry shared in a recent post, Matthew 6:21 declares that your heart is where your treasure is. Our heart, then, is with our projects and programs, for that is where our treasure truly is today in the church. Yes, it's a sad and dangerous place for us to be, in these last days. We think that by attaching spiritual relevance to what we're doing we can justify what we're doing. That's how we sell what we want to do in our own strength and will.
Do It! Do what? Employ EEs! Yes, that's right, employees! If you're an employer, then you have an obligation to employ any EEs who come to you looking for work. So just Have At It...employ EEs. Just Do It! (sorry Nike) Employeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!

Hey folks.... Yeah... my computer totally crashed on me yesterday. the hard drive is FRIED! Nothing left of it. And stupid me, I had nothing AT ALL backed up so I lost everything. I had 150 pages written in my story that I have been working on and I lost that because I never would have imagined that I would have lost my hard drive. Now, (this will show how much I know about computers these days) I just realized or discovered today that newer computers don't even have an A: drive anymore. You have to use those USB flash drives now if you want to save any info at all... So I can't even get the info that I have on those disks.... I mean, I have like 100 million of them, that's all. Now I can't even use them.... they are obsolete!

My full intention is to put a "Quote of the Day" on here every day... since it is a quote of the "DAY".. but life has gotten busy with a new job and balancing family and internet..:) So... I will certainly do my best to get one here every day.
We are driven by success. Our will is to succeed. In whatever we're doing we want to be successful. That's fine. That's natural. That's how we're born. But the problem arises when we attempt to operate independently in the church from within our will. Our will needs to be surrendered, that it may come under the authority of God's will. However, God does not want to simply strip us of our humanity; no, he wants to capitalize on it, and channel it into spiritual fruit, not meaningless, temporal man-made success. Fruit focuses on what the Spirit is doing while success focuses on what man is accomplishing in his own strength and will. So when we are talking about success in the church, we are focusing on what we can accomplish in our own strength and will. And since it goes against our grain to hear that we need to surrender our will to God's will, we try to carry out God's mission in our own will. The challenge to submit and surrender has been too much for us, so that now, we try to operate in and please both wills. We have translated the fruit into the success, so that we can have the best of both worlds. We are trying to carry out God's mission in our own strength. We are trying to produce fruit while talking about success. We are trying to operate in the church with one foot in the Spirit and one foot in our will. If this all sounds like nonsense or semantics then why is it that the church talks more about success than fruit? Why is it, then, that the church buildings are growing more than the people within them? Why is it, then, that we are more concerned about selling our programs and products than being people of prayer and purpose? Since we are born with a will to be lords over our own lives, we are driven to succeed in and of ourselves, so that we can be proud of what we have accomplished in and of ourselves. The observation in the culture of our society's church community: the church talks more about success than fruit...why is that?
God has a mission for the church, but it was never meant to be adopted independently from him. We have, by our own self-will, taken over God's rightful place in the church. We have transformed God's mission for the church into our own personal ambition. We have turned the mission of the church into our own business venture. We have become dependent upon ourselves. We expect through advertisements, attractions and activities that we'll build up the church. We have turned God's gospel, his message of salvation, into our product. We are engaged in marketing our product so it will make a great profit. We have our product to sell and our profit to gain. Or at least that's the way we see it! And so, while the mission is still the same, we have claimed the gospel for ourselves, to be our product. We present and promote the message as if we're selling it, like we're seeking to make a profit. The profit, is the people who are saved. That's why we are so proud when people get saved; we think it's because of what we did. From within our proud hearts, we have assumed responsibility for the growth of the church. We see it now as our project, pursuit and purpose in life.
We run the church like a business today. We've taken over the leadership of this company, called the Church. We've handed over the administration of the church to men. We've squeezed the Spirit out of his role in the church. It's a grave and dangerous transformation. We have taken the church - the true Church, God's Church - from Organism to Organization. The church in our day is no longer a living, breathing body of Christ. It is now a company run by men who want to control, manipulate and direct the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit. Why has this happened? Because our natural instinct is to control everything around us, including what is not ours to control, namely, the church. At the center of man's heart is himself, and when
Duct tape is a great thing, but if you ever need to remove it, its residue leaves an awfully sticky mess.
"My Soul waits silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The Rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us."
Shadows are the two-dimensional expression of our three-dimensional world. Our three-dimensionally-stimulating environment conceals the blank silhouettes of our existence. May our shadows be long, dark and consuming all the days of our lives.
Everyone goes through hard times in life. It's just part of life. We take our cares to God because we know He cares for us, but sometimes we think He doesn't hear us. Sometimes we think he's not listening to our cry for help. We get frustrated and angry at God because we begin to believe lies about Him. He's told us that He would never leave us nor forsake us. That is a Promise. The Word tells us that He can not lie. So... because of that truth, we can totally trust that God will NOT leave us and will NOT forsake us.
A pirate had a wooden leg, a hook on one arm, and a patch over one eye. Someone asked him how these things happened. He said that a whale bit off his leg, a crocodile had chewed off his hand, and a bird dropping hit him in the eye. The other guy replied that he understood about the wooden leg having had his original bite off by a whale, and the hook was there to replace the hand the crocodile had chewed off, but a patch over the eye because of a bird dropping ... that he didn’t understand. The pirate said that when the bird dropping hit him in the eye, that was the first day he had had his hook.
No, I didn't spell it wrong. I just felt like spelling it like that today.Evolution & Homosexuality cannot co-exist as complimentary beliefs in their mutual society. They contradict each other. Evolution says that organisms have the power within themselves to better themselves. However, a big part of bettering oneself is found in being able to carry on your existence - procreation. Forgive the obvious observation here, but, homosexuality is not equipped for creating life. It just does not allow for such an opportunity. And yet, if our culture and society - the human race - is entertaining this alternative lifestyle, then we are not evolving. For if we allow the option of homosexuality, then we must be prepared for everyone to adopt this new lifestyle. And if this happens, then we have signed our own death warrant. The greatest need in evolution is survival and homosexuality does not meet such a need. Therefore, if evolution is wrong, while homosexuality is right, we face the reality that we are created - and then come under God's holiness, shedding light on the immorality of homosexuality. If homosexuality is wrong, then we still come under the presence of God because obviously, if evolution is right, it would not lead us into homosexuality. Either way you look at it, they must cancel each other out. Otherwise, for our society to prove itself wise, we must at least reject one of them. And this ain't happenin' with this depraved, sinful, perverse human race!
Self-help preachers are in abundance today. The ones I notice are on tv, because that's the only place I can see them. But I'm sure there are many out there. Take Joel Osteen in Houston, Texas, whose church just bought an old stadium. He preaches a self-help Christianity, proclaiming peace and happiness to anyone who will claim it for themselves. Or take Joyce Meyers, who preaches prosperity to those who will apply the spiritual and biblical principles found in Christianity. I call them motivational speakers, nothing more. They have watered down the nature of reality and stripped Christianity of knowing Christ intimately and being known by him in the same way. They have ignored the ugliness of the human sinful nature, and our need to be broken and humiliated. We need to be changed from the inside out. They are trying to change things from the outside. There are plenty of worldy motivational speakers who sound similar to these so-called preachers, just without the mention of Christ's name a few times. The problem with self-help preaching and teaching is ourselves! We are powerless to help ourselves. That's why Christ is our Savior; he came to save us!
Self-help books. You've all see them; you've all heard of them; perhaps some of you have even read one or two. Well, when we tell people how to overcome or deal with something in their lives through a certain way of living, we're feeding them self-help crap. When we share the "good news" with someone about any change that can be wrought in their lives, to the exclusion of God's direct work in their lives through the Holy Spirit, we de-spiritualize the message. When we preach or proclaim a message of living a better life through the sole application of spiritual or biblical principles, without any mention of the actual work being performed by the Spirit, we empty the truth of its power. Christianity is not an applied religious belief (that's what Scientology is). Christianity is rooted in, always has been and always will be - at least within the true church that God recognizes - personal interaction and relationship with our Creator. We cannot use God's truth on our own terms and still expect it to carry the same power that is only available through the personal Spirit of Christ.
Tools of the trade. Every company has 'em. That's how they earn their money. Well, the church is no different. We have our "tools" too. Oh, surely, we wouldn't refer to them as such, for then we'd be accountable for what we've done to the them. But consider this: how do we promote God's truth in his Word? We call them principles; how do we present the gospel? We call them Steps to Salvation. We have taken the power out of the gospel and the life out of God's word by processing the truth into humanized, organized programs and formulas. We use all that God has given us, to our glory and gain. Oh, sure, we say "it's all to the glory of God," but in the end, it's all a cover for the pride in our hearts that drives us to produce success and see progress. We've taken from what God has given us and turned it into something we can control, handle, manage and manipulate. We've turned God's work into our tools. That leaves us and our efforts empty, devoid of power and value. Our man-made church is worthless. We must know God and be known by him, not know about him and his power.

Hey, all you fellow bloggers out there! Do you remember the first time you created a blog for yourself? Weren't you just so consumed with an insatiable thirst to add post after post after post, just because you could, just because it was there, just because it was all yours to do so??? Wow, what a feeling...just gotta keep scratching...it'll go away...eventually...right? Won't it?? It will, right?...won't it? Oh no...
I don't have anything to say about this; I just thought it sounded funny...ya know, like a title for something, perhaps a song, album, or group title...oh, heck, how about just a title for this post...yeah, that'll work,...it's already done!
"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."
We'll occasionally be posting little stupid jokes that we want you to guess the punch line to. Leave your guess in the comment box and we'll see who the winner is. The winner doesn't really win anything except the fact that they won this silly little contest.

"What do you call a girl with no arms and no legs and likes to talk a lot?"
...........go ahead and leave your guesses in the comments section of this post.......... This should be interesting... hehehe.

Look at these statistics very closely. Our church culture's drive is to build up the church, we're doing a very good job at that... a very good job indeed according to that statistic... Now, you may be saying, no we're not, we're losing... but consider what the church is to us...consider what we see the church as: "The building..." this statistic fits very well with where our hearts are at these days and where our priorities are. So, the issue is that, yes, we are building up the church - just not God's church; we're building up man's church very well: the images, signs and appearances of what the church is are looking very good. But the Church... the world... is dying. What will you do about this if you care?Free will has taken over the North American religious community's worldview. The idea of free will is all well and good but we have translated it into something it's not. Our idea of free will is feeling free to keep our will, while still trying to enjoy the Father's will. Free will, however, means that we are responsible to respond to God's calling upon our lives.
We have one responsibility in our interaction and relationship with God; and it is hidden in the word RESPONSibility...RESPONSE. We are called to respond to God, not the other way around. To those free-willers out there, this may offend you. (Even though I feel that the religious worldview of North America is based on this idea of free-will.) But think about this question: Who is in control of your life and destiny? Who is in control of your relationship with God? Is Christ Lord of your life, or are you on the throne? Who calls the shots? Is it not us, who in turn ask, hope and pray that God will bless our designs, programs and agendas? Who is sovereign? Who serves who? Man's church has given mankind an undeserved role of calling the shots and in turn seeking and even expecting God's blessing. We have turned the tables on our rightful roles and positions. We have given God the role of service. We see him as benefiting us now. We see him as existing for our PLEASURE. God does not desire our pleasure and blessing anymore than he desires for us to truly know him; for in knowing him, and being known by him, we find our fulfillment in life, our very reason for living, and purpose for our existence. What is the attitude of our heart? That's where the problem lies. Do we see God as our genie-in-a-bottle or as the Sovereign Lord that he is? If you can honestly answer that question, you will see that our role is that of RESPONSE. Let's stop trying to be the Holy Spirit. Let's stop trying to play God. Let's stop trying to take the role of Creator.
This is how I felt when I left GCC... even though it's not how it happened at all. HEHE. It was more of a gentle nudge...:) Well, they did give me a gift... WHICH I didn't like at all! Of all things, they give me a hockey Jersey. Just goes to show how much time they took getting to know me during the year that I was there....what kind of jam is that? It certainly doesn't sound like the blueberry and strawberry jams I know? I guess it doesn't really matter...either way it would be a sticky mess.
We want to begin something new and provide our readers with a "quote of the day" concerning different spiritual truths and the like. We truly hope you gain insight and truth for your life through them. Here is the first:

I finally started working today. Well, at least I had the orientation session with the placement agency. I'll be working in a call centre for a cell phone company. It should be fun, I've never done anything like that before so it should be interesting. I'll tell ya, It's been quite the journey just to get this job. You'd think that after looking for a job since April, I would have found something by now. But, I'm very grateful to have this one now.
Well, here I am writing the first blog on our site.
