Have at It! - It's the only Way!

Church Crud
There's a lot of crud in the church taught and imparted to each new generation of vessels. Woe to those who fill up the minds of young impressionables with man's ways, traditions, and philosophies! How much of the Spirit is truly in the spiritual church today? Are we willing to recognize and admit how much of man's corrupted influence has truly infected the church? How much of man's influence and identity is truly in the church today? Would it not match the level of decline and fruitlessness of the church? Why haven't we been able to put the two and two together? Because we continue in our self-absorption. Because we continue to see the problem as something we can solve. Because we continue to depend on the very cause of the deterioration: US. We are the disease that has crippled ourselves. The will of man is masterfully and powerfully scheming, coniving, and deceiving. When will we acknowledge the DISEASE!?!

Quote of the Day - Crucified...†

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification were through the law, then Christ died to no purpose.

Alive and Liberated
Well, I did something about changing my life. I quit the buffing job yesterday, and boy, do I feel liberated. I'm glad to be done with that and out of there. On to bigger and better things.
PETRA ROCKS!

Hey Folks... I'm not sure of you remember me advertising PETRA's farewell tour that was coming to my hometown for October 12th, but they came and it was AWESOME! Although, the concert here turned out to be more of a sharing time with John Schlitt because his lead Guitarist, Bob Hartman, couldn't make it due to bad weather in New Jersey. They sang a couple classics, but it was more of a really cool sharing time. John shared his life's testimony (which is a really great example of what Our Saviour can pull a person out of!) and answered some questions from the crowd. Some guys at the end actually got to play a song with John while he sang. That made their year!
Anyway though, because it wasn't a full concert, he invited the entire crowd to his next concert in the next place a couple hours away. So, of course I went! It was one of the greatest concerts I've ever been to.
Above is a picture of John Schlitt in Concert. He's a great man of God and he (and Bob Hartman) has invested his life procaiming God's Word in Song. Thank you PETRA, I will never forget you! You were the first Christian music I was ever exposed to right after I became a Christian. Again... THANK YOU for your lives and your ministry!

I'm Alive
Boy, I haven't had time to post anything lately, let alone be online. I shouldn't even be taking the time I am right now. But I felt I oughta say, "Hello." With the new job I started and being sick last weekend, I've been staying close to home. Hopefully, we'll get internet access at home in November. I haven't even been inspired with any new revelation or thought. Something needs to change...

Quote of the Day - The peace of God
3 You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
4 So trust in the Lord [commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages, never changing].
~Isaiah 26:3-4 (Amplified Version)
"You" in this passage = God

Quote of the Day - "My Heart's Love (another poem)
Written March 14th, 2005 for my wife and son
True joys in life,
There are few.
God loves me so,
He gave me two.
I miss them dear,
When they're away.
There's nothing in the world
That would make me sway.
Because the love in my heart
That the Lord gave me,
Is like the cord of three strands
That makes us three.

Hey there... I'm front
Hey Folks... for those of you who care... I'm back from my little road trip to my native province. It was a nice visit for sure. Saw my parents... and the Chihuahua... It was all nice really. It was great to get away from here for a few days... It only took me 7.5 hours to get there from here when it normally takes about 9 - 10 hours. Not exactly sure what was done differently, but I liked the "shortness" of it.
Anyway... I will now post a new quote of the day...
Blessings

Personal Feelings
I'm tired of living according to other people's standards. I'm tired of living according to what other people think I should say or act like. I'm tired of living according to the accepted standards of normalcy. I want to be myself. I want to be true to myself. I want to have a clear conscience. I have been set free. I am a child of God. And there is nothing in this world that would offer me greater satisfaction than to be used by him.
Quote of the Day - Be Radical!
Now since Bry... is away for a few days, I thought I would fill in for him with a "Quote of the Day" for you.
Be ridiculously radical for Jesus!
How's that? I know, it's a feeble attempt at a short, clever quip. But I love Bry...'s quick quote from a few days ago:
JUST DO IT!...Do it trembling if you must, but just do it!
Open-Minded Christians - Part 3
Whether you agree with Christians being open-minded or close-minded, or whether they should be one or the other, doesn't really matter. What matters is that you understand what it means to be open-minded. Let me explain. Mankind - in other words, our culture, or society - looks at open-mindedness as an opportunity to accept anything...or everything. The problem with man's open-mindedness is that they open themselves up to anything...and everything. In other words, they empty themselves, that anything that wants to attach itself to them can and will. Now since God does not impose himself on people, he would not naturally inhabit such an open invitation. However, the temptations and attractions of our sinful humanity beckon the devil's evil schemes, footholds, and habits. He jumps right in. But don't be fooled; evil, or the devil, is not so blatant that it can be easily detected. Obviously, it, or he, would want to cover himself as much as possible so as to avoid detection. However, Christians, or humans in general, should be open-minded to God. That's the point I'm trying to make with all of this. Be open-minded in faith; be open-minded in prayer; be open-minded in life. As Christians, we must expect the impossible and plan for a miracle. We must walk this life of faith as risk-takers. We must know that God is in control, and that we trust Him, not our circumstances. Let go of yourselves and your life, and embrace God, his Son, and his Spirit. Amen!
Open-Minded Christians - Part 2
While to some, this Title may seem like a contradiction, it is the description of an ideal picture for what a Christian should look like and be like. However, in the church's paranoia to preserve the purity of the gospel message, we have taken the solitary nature of our salvation and translated it into the whole of our experience as Christains - and humans! We think and process our life in a very narrow, shallow field of reference, observation, and experience. We certainly don't venture too far out of the box. And yet, we, the church, the faith-filled, are we not the ones who should be the risk takers? Are we not the ones who should be willing to question anything and everything? For if God is real and true to mankind, would he not be able to prove himself and defend himself? Yes, he would. It is not our job to protect the sanctity of God's truth and his gospel through our narrow, shallow thinking. We are called to open up the floodgates, to spread the waters, to walk on water! And yet, what are we doing with our God-given gifts of faith? Storing them up for a rainy day, I'm afraid. We are weak - a very weak force in our community and culture.

Open-Minded Christians - Part 1
We are accused of being close-minded. We are accused of being narrow-minded. We are accused of being exclusively-minded. The church, and its Christians who make it up, are in fact Close-Minded, contrary to our wishful thinking. We preach, "my way or the highway!" We proclaim, "God's way or no way!" We profess, "Christ is the only way - to heaven and salvation!" But when did we ever take the time to be OPEN to Christ? When do we ever take the time to be OPEN to his Spirit? When will we ever take the time to be OPEN to his Father? The church today looks exactly like the culture and society that consumes it. We run headlong into our agendas and ambitions, completely ignoring the true mission of the church, and focus exclusively on ourselves. We attempt to build up the church in our own strength, ability, and wisdom. In that, we are surely doomed to fail; and in fact, we are! May we be open-minded to the Spirit; may we be open-hearted to God; may we have our lives open to Christ, that he may come in and fill us with his Spirit, that Christ may be our life!
