Should ADD & OCD Marry?

She lives her life as a veritable tornado. Everything is there, and quite accessible, but to access the one thing you want is unthinkable.

He, on the other hand, lives his life as if he were a filing cabinet. Everything is where it should be, but quite impossible to find what you're looking for.

She follows no rules, and allows each moment to be as random as the previous.
He lives only by rules, and calculates each step based on the previous.

She is impetuous, sporadic, and completely unpredictable (except for that, of course, that she is unpredictable - you can predict that.)
He is inflexible, ordered, and completely unbending (he would be predictable if she could remember what she knows about him.)

They can never see eye-to-eye. They are always at odds with each other because they can never see or understand how the other lives like that.

She is always and completely inconsistent.
He is always and completely inconsiderate.

Is there any hope for them if they get together?

The Sneeze

"Aaachooo!"
"God bless you."

That little exchange should be familiar to all of us - but why?

It's always seemed so silly to me. So silly in fact, that I finally, eventually, gave up saying anything at all in response to someone's sneeze. I mean, what's the point? Especially with the seriousness of the words we use in response to such an obviously insignificant bodily function.

In giving up this silly "blessing", though, I started feeling obligated to make sure I, now, at least, always offered an "apology" for my own sneeze. I guess I felt the need to be polite on at least one end of this unusual interruption.

So, pondering all of this has begged the question: if a blessing is offered for a sneeze, is an apology for the sneeze still required? Or does the sneezed-on's blessing excuse the sneezer from having to offer an apology? In other words, does the blessing excuse the apology?

What do you think? How do you play the game? Leave your answer as a comment.

(When I sneeze, I even wait to see if they'll proffer a blessing before I offer an apology. If they say something in response to my sneeze, then I feel released from having to say anything in return.)

Photobucket Update... and more updates

I know I don't update my bucket often, but the link to my photobucket to the right there will take you to some updated pics of me and my fam. under the title: "NEW April 12th 2007".... for those of you who might care.

ALSO, Jennifer and I seem to have finally bought our first house! It is located in Kanata, Ontario (this is a subsection of Ottawa) and it is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, high-ranch style duplex. It has a backyard that is approx. 200 feet deep... which is really cool for the city.... and at the back of the property there is a slope that we will be able to use a sliding hill in the winter time.... We are in the process of finalizing everything... so let's hope that our lawyer or anyone else for that matter, doesn't find anything that will make us have to back out like the last nightmare.

God Bless you all... seriously.

Mere mental assent to a doctrine is not enough. Where there is no transformation, there is no Christianity.

The New Evil

Faith. Creation. Christ. They are all the new evil of today. (And you can add Christmas and Easter too.) They are all taboo today. Don't you dare utter one of these words anymore. They are offensive and R-rated words now.

Religion isn't taboo, however, so long as you're not talking about the Christian religion. You can talk about any other form of spiritual or supernatural experience and not be viewed differently.

Aaaah! Run for the hills! Someday said Jesus! Aaah! Run away!
