ADDENDUM to "Spiritualized Church Ministry" post

That thought was inspired by a postcard i got from a bible college telling about their new, beautiful chapel..."to the glory of God" they said...I say HOGWASH...I say, "why is the building so darn outlandish then? why isn't it humble?" sheesh, have you seen the pics of it? It's completely unnecessary...
anyway, i'm sick of the church attaching spiritual significance to all of our physical tools...all it is, is an excuse to make ourselves feel good by showing off what we accomplished in our strenght and will...
"oh, let's dedicate it to the lord" "oh, let's celebrate this and that" I say it creates unhealthy attachments to things, to this world...we see it all the time in the church: the old-timers get so offended by changes to the church buildings and decor...I mean, for goodness sakes, grow up...this stuff burns people...it rots...it falls apart
