Beliefs are stale, inorganic and institutional. We adhere too strongly to our beliefs and miss out on trust.
The idea of evolution gives great hope to the human race. It is no wonder that we are drawn to it. It fills our hearts with pride and our heads with power.
I hate the asterik. It represents everything insidious. It voids the value and betrays the promise of what it represents.

How does evolution give me power? If anything, I am powerless against it. It is a force that moves forward with or without my consent. I am not central to its progress. I am but a tiny speck of a being bending to its will and changing as it pleases.
That's just it! In our proud human hearts, we attach ourselves to the ideads and theories that, though unable to hold any water, give us reason to hope in the frailty and complexity of our physical existence. Evolution DOESN'T give us power. That's just it!
ok then, i guess the next question is why do we need power? I guess I don't really understand what you're saying.
you've attached your proud heart to a theory that involves a man who lives in the sky which to me is a belief that is "unable to hold any water" as well... now where does that leave us? We're both full of crap?

We need power to survive. We'll either get it from thinking there is hope in the physical force of evolution, or from knowing our Creator.
