News Article Response

Homosexuality is not an issue of identity, or an alternative lifestyle, or a matter of personality. It does not speak of one's worth, or value as a human being. And while it does remain an option, it is not simply a matter of preference. Homosexuality speaks directly against the very order of our existence. It is a perversion of our ability to procreate. Homosexuals cannot be pro-life, for their choice contradicts the creation of life. Life ends with them. I do not argue that homosexuals are attracted to the same sex, but I do not believe it is natural. I believe that the homosexual uses their felt desire as a means of justifying their choice, but just because they prefer the same sex does not make it right, natural, or healthy. It is no more natural, healthy, or right than AIDS or cancer is in a person. It is a disease and a sickness. It needs to be treated, not encouraged and supported. Just like all the thousands of maladies we suffer with, they are the result of our poor choices. There are natural laws governing nature and our existence. When we deviate from them, they cause disease and disaster. We recognize that - heck, we even acknowledge it - and yet, we continue to make poor choices. There are laws governing our existence. No argument there. Why, then, do we accept all the effects of our deviations, as natural and ok? Our sinful choice has corrupted the heart and moral fabric of our existence. God is the one who set up our laws of existence. He warned us to not deviate from them. We are reaping the consequences in every area of our lives: physically (homosexual preference, disease, detioration), mentally (chemical imbalances, illnesses, retardations), and spiritually (corrupted hearts, separation, emptiness). And this doesn't even speak of the impact upon nature and environment. Our world is falling apart. It cannot handle our abuse, and cursed state. We are falling apart. The longer we and our world exist, the worse it gets. We may dupe ourselves into believing that we can handle and control it, but we're just trying to keep up with all the new problems we just created. This hopeless state is very depressing, but with God there is life and hope in abudance. There is an escape - found only in Christ.
